Back To School Checklist

It’s that time of year – summer is coming to an end, and your little (and big) ones are heading back to school. Do you have everything they need? Here are some great tips to help you get them ready for school in style, while staying on budget.

Make a list

It’s easy to get carried away when you’re purchasing back-to-school items, especially if your children are attending a specialized or new school. The best idea is to create a list that clearly identifies – and separates – nice to haves and necessities. This will help you to ensure you stay on budget when you start actually purchasing.

Price matching saves trips

Most stores today honour price matching – Best Buy for example will actually beat advertised prices by 10%. There are a number of online tools and apps, like Flipp and RedFlag Deals, which make it easy to aggregate all the available deals. This will help you not only cut down on research, but also trips to various stores to take advantage of the best deals. This is especially important for big-ticket items like iPads or laptops.

The Internet is your friend

Everyone is busy, so sometimes getting out to the store is tricky – especially with more than one child. Many websites have a bevy of great web-only deals, and to top it off, offer free shipping (on orders over a minimum amount). The one drawback is that you’ll need to know your child’s size, but they are easily exchangeable at a retail location.

Back to school shopping can be as easy as 1-2-3, with a little planning of course. Do you have any great tips? Visit our Facebook Page and let us know!
