Our Latest Community Is A Great Example of Accessibility Options

At Brookfield Residential we take pride in designing homes and communities that make dreams real for families. Ensuring that they are accessible to everyone plays a big part in helping us achieve this goal.

For example, at Fieldstone, our latest community, which opened to the public last weekend, we made sure we included features like textured sidewalks at intersections to assist with the vision-impaired, oversized streets signs, and rolled curbs.

What’s more, all Fieldstone homes include a host of accessibility features, some of which include:
  • Minimum 36” passageways from room to room and minimum 36” entry at front, rear and garage access
  • Minimum 42” wide hallways on main floor
  • Strategic reinforcement of the studs to accommodate future grab bars in main or twin bathrooms
That’s not all — among our upgrades pertaining to accessibility, you can get:
  • Non-slip stair finishes
  • Motion sensor lighting
  • Right-height toilets
To upgrade to these features, please talk to your Decor Consultant at our Inspiration Studio. You can also meet with a Design Representative to modify your plans to meet your unique needs. Some of the most common requests include:

  • Exterior ramps at front entrance or garage
  • Reinforced shaft to accommodate future elevator or lift
  • Wider stairs with reinforced wall to accommodate a chair lift
