Spending March Break With The Family

March break is upon us, which for many of you means your children have a week off from school. With only one week to go, now is a good time to start making some plans. For those of you that also have a few days off, here are a couple of great suggestions for things that you can do as a family.

Skiing, Skating & Tubing

With the recent wave of snow, it seems like the best time of the season to get out there and make the most of winter. There are plenty of skating rinks across Ontario that have special march break hours, and a multitude of ski hills that offer March break family passes. If you’re into Tubing, many ski hills offer a safe space for you and the kids to climb, slide and repeat.

Maple Sugaring

It’s the sweetest time of the year – maple-sugaring season. Your family can get into the spirit by tapping trees, collecting sap in buckets, and being part of the syrup making process. Of course we can’t forget the best part, delicious maple syrup treats, yummy food, sleigh rides and more. There are a number of sugar bushes located around the GTA, and Niagara regions. You can check out a few of them here.

Staying At home

Sometimes when the weather is overly cold – and unpredictable – nothing beats an afternoon at home. There are loads of great DIY activities that you can do with your children that are anything but boring. Here is a great list of ideas to get you started.
