Live by the lake

pickering communityRosebank by the Lake is a new neighbourhood in an established area of southwest Pickering. Located by Rosebank Road just north of Lake Ontario, Rosebank by the Lake is in the midst of a thriving community. Schools, parks, stores and other conveniences are already built and just a short walk away. Mature trees line the streets, creating a lush haven in the spring and summer months. Time-honoured traditions abound here: parents walking their kids to school; neighbours gathering In front yards for relaxed evening chats; families enjoying bike rides and picnics on hot summer days. It’s the best of both worlds: a new home in an old neighbourhood, abounding with trees and parks, and all the services and benefits of big city living.

Idyllic Southwest Pickering

pickering familyThis highly coveted area in Pickering has Rouge Park to the west and the Petticoat Creek Conservation Area just to the east. To the south is beautiful Lake Ontario, including Rouge Beach. Surrounded by oases of green and wildlife, this area is one of the last in Ontario where you can enjoy the wilderness yet be close to the urban life of downtown Pickering.

Explore the Parks and Beautiful Lake Ontario Waterfront

The waterfront and Rouge Beach are just minutes away, and boast some of the best waterfront land in Ontario, with a sandy beach and lots of wildlife. Come with your family to go swimming on a summer day or for a picnic on the beach. The view of Lake Ontario and the shoreline east of Pickering is breathtaking, a spectacular sight not to be expected so close to a big city. Rouge River, which feeds from Rouge Park into Lake Ontario, offers a peaceful waterway for canoeing and exploring, as do the nearby marshes. The marshes are great for fishing and have abundant wildlife, with Canada geese, gulls, and even swans. A short walk down Rosebank Road takes you to all these natural getaways. Spend some time reconnecting with nature, sharing the experience with your loved ones. Cross the Rouge River on a pedestrian bridge to make your way to the Rouge Beach Park to the west, and cross it again to get to the Petticoat Creek Conservation Area, just to the east of Rosebank Road. The boardwalk and waterfront pathways are seconds away, including the Lake Ontario Waterfront Trail. So many places to explore, so many views, so many adventures! Trails along the waterfront are perfect for biking, walking or running, and offer unparalleled views of the lake and the bluffs. Open year-round except for during the winter, the trails and boardwalk are suitable for strollers, hikers and bikers alike.

To the north are Rosebank Park (also known as Rick Hull Park) and Dunmoore Park, each with a softball diamond, soccer fields and tennis courts. Rosebank Park also has a basketball court. Just minutes from Rosebank by the Lake, these parks will delight active families.
